Al Haramain – Cambodi Oudh Seufi
Like the other bakhoors, this sample comes from my friend Povilas, who sent me a generous selection of samples from his collection.
Munawwara is a muattar, meaning a bakhoor made of wood chips soaked in perfume oils.

Cambodi Oudh Seufi is sold in glass jars of 50g.
In the shop of Al Haramain Perfumes, the price is 27.22$ (about €23). That makes approx. €0.46 per gram.
Al Haramain sadly don’t provide any description of the smell.
I’m using this bakhoor (as always) on a tea-light incense warmer.
The raw scent of Cambodi Oudh Seufi is floral and fresh, slightly astringent and perfumey in a way that rather puts me off.
On the warmer, the fragrance shows itself somewhat sweeter, in a warm, ambery way, however, the strongly floral perfume smell is still predominant. The fragrance no longer seems quite as fresh as out of the tin; what I found astringent in the cold throw transforms into a powderiness when heated. So now it feels more like a friendly, rather feminine perfume, with hints of rose and violet blossoms like lilac.
In the first few minutes, the splinters sweat a lot of oil and if you use a fine mesh for heating, quite a respectable amount of smoke is created.
A bit later, the pieces look mate and dry but still occasionally let rise a fine, fragrant haze. At this point, the smell has become noticeably deeper and woodier; I like it better than at the beginning.
I collected the used splinters, heated them again later and still found the aroma very pleasant. Even a hint of oudh came to the fore doing this.
The room note is a pleasant mélange of the flowery perfume with deeper, ambery tones.
