Sonnentag – Natural Scents – Rasa
I discovered the Sonnentag brand by chance and ordered the incense sticks directly from their shop. The regular price is €2.70, I bought Kailash on special offer for €2.20. One pack contains 10g, in the case of Kailash that were 10 incense sticks, which makes an approximate unit price of 27ct.
A burning time is not specified.
I had a short, friendly email contact with Sonnentag and learned that the manufacturing company in India from which they had previously got their incense from unfortunately no longer exists. So the incense sticks that have been produced in India will disappear from their range as soon as the current stock is sold out, and Kailash is one of them.
The listed ingredients are nutmeg, vetiver, and patchouli.
Sonnentag describes the scent profile as “heavy, musky, slightly sweet.”
Once again, I am puzzled by the ingredient list for a variety from this manufacturer. I am familiar with all the listed ingredients in their raw form and know how they smell, yet I do not find them reflected in the scent profile of these sticks. Instead, I am vaguely reminded of Elbenzauber – Tallisin-Kräuter, whose ingredient list reads entirely differently.
Rasa has a powdery freshness that I indeed perceive as musky. It is a similar type of musk scent as in Incensum – Musk: unobtrusive and natural. There is a very subtle sweetness. As with Everest, it also happens with Rasa that another sweet note appears, balsamic and very captivating, but it disappears again after a few moments.
Nevertheless, I like Rasa and its softness, which comes off as both fresh and spicy. Could this be the vetiver?
Overall, I find the aroma of Rasa relatively mild. I prefer burning it with only slightly open windows.
