Vinasons: Golden Rose, Green Rose
I received one stick of each of these varieties from Padma Store. They are available as part of the Vinasons Charcoal Sample Pack (€11.95) or separately in 20g packs for €5.45 and €4.65, respectively.
Golden Rose
Golden Rose has a very soft, warm floral scent and is quite sweet. Depending on the air dilution, I perceive the fragrance slightly differently. In higher concentrations, the sparkling side of the scent is emphasised, while as it disperses, its softness becomes more prominent. The after-smell is almost creamy-sweet.
I’m surprised that I don’t find this scent overwhelming. The intense rose sweetness doesn’t suit my taste, but Golden Rose is still far from unpleasant for me. It’s a friendly and sunny rose fragrance.
Green Rose
Green Rose seems to be an evergreen in the Vinasons range; one of their most popular varieties, both among charcoal-based sticks and overall.
It has a nice, unobtrusive rose scent. I find it slightly less defined than Golden Rose; Green Rose is more homogeneous, so to speak. There’s no distinct sparkling note, but the sweetness isn’t as pronounced either. It’s simply a lovely but unexciting rose scent.
After a while, the vanilla note mentioned in the product description emerges.
For a few moments after lighting, I noticed a faint matchstick smell with both samples, but it disappeared quickly. I also don’t detect any off-note from the charcoal base.
These are good, dipped incense sticks that burn cleanly and release a clear fragrance.
