Auroshikha – Nirvana
I got this pack as a by-catch, so to speak, along with a set of Japanese incense sticks I scored on Kleinanzeigen in late 2024.
These are mini-sticks, each 10cm in length, similar to those sold by Mother’s. A pack of minis contains 15 sticks, each with an approximate burn time of 15 minutes.
In Germany, I found a seller, Anandam, who offers the minis for €1.65, while the longer version (with 10 sticks) costs €2. Padma Store only stocks the long sticks, priced at €2.25 per pack. Auroshikha is widely available, not only in Germany, and often found as well in brick-and-mortar stores.
No specific scent notes are given; the fragrance is simply described as a “fresh, floral aroma.”
To me, Nirvana has a perfume-like scent. Fresh and floral is an apt description, and I can’t pick out much more. I’d probably find Nirvana pleasant as a hand soap; as incense, however, it reminds me of just that and thereby falls into a category of scents I just don’t get along with.
Nirvana isn’t unpleasant, but it’s not what I look for in incense. In addition, I’ve noticed that with this variety (as with other Auroshikha sticks before), my throat starts to feel a little scratchy.
Anyone who goes along well with Auroshikha incense and likes perfumey scents reminiscent of soap or laundry fragrance might enjoy Nirvana.
