PremaNature – Divine Palo
I received this pack from PremaNature as a sample at the beginning of 2025.
The main article about PremaNature you can find here.
A pack of PremaNature incense sticks contains 12 sticks of 8″ length; each burns for 45-55 minutes.
On the back, this pack carries a stamp with the batch number DPI-1809.
Bought directly from the PremaNature website, the sticks cost 5€ per pack, that makes about 0,42€ per stick. In Germany, they’re so far only sold by Indiaroma, where a pack costs 5,90€ (about 0,49€ per stick).

Ingredients: Theertham (energised water), essential oil of Bursera graveolens and Santalum album, essential oil blend, tree resin, high quality and pure charcoal powder, powder of Tectona grandis and Litsea glutinosa.
The ingredients list makes it seem as Divine Palo contain only the oil of Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens). Because I find the smell very woody, I inquired about this with David from PremaNature. He told me that this was an oversight; Divine Palo also contain high-quality (Grade A) Palo Santo wood from Peru.
As mentioned, I find the scent of Divine Palo quite woody. The fragrance is absolutely typical for Palo Santo; it’s a woody smell vaguely reminiscent of cedar wood, with minty notes and a sweetness that makes me think of coconut. Palo Santo simply has such a unique scent that one must have smelled to be able to imagine it.
Similar to Spiritual Sage, I perceive a slightly bitter, gum-like note in the fragrance that only becomes apparent when I inhale the smoke a little too close-up. I’m certainly familiar with such a smell from burning unprocessed Palo Santo wood as well; however, the note could possibly come from one of the unnamed resins as well.
In any case, the note contributes to the smell of Divine Palo feeling authentic to me.
Amongst all the incense sticks I’ve reviewed so far, Divine Palo are the first Indian-made Palo Santo incense sticks that actually smell like Palo Santo and are credibly of purely natural origin.
Palo Santo is, as far as I know, hardly available to consumers in India. However, since PremaNature are also available in India, Divine Palo offer an excellent opportunity to experience authentic Palo Santo fragrance there as well.
