PremaNature – Basil Bliss
I received this pack from PremaNature as a sample at the beginning of 2025.
The main article about PremaNature you can find here.
A pack of PremaNature incense sticks contains 12 sticks of 8″ length; each burns for 45-55 minutes.
Unlike other packs, there is no packaging date or batch number stamped on the box of Basil Bliss.
Bought directly from the PremaNature website, the sticks cost 5€ per pack, that makes about 0,42€ per stick. In Germany, they’re so far only sold by Indiaroma, where a pack costs 5,90€ (about 0,49€ per stick).

Ingredients: Theertham (energized water), Ocimum tenuiflorum [Tulsi] essential oil, Essential oil mix. Tree resin, High-quality & pure charcoal powder, Tectona grandis and Litsea glutinosa powder.
The scent of Basil Bliss is rather restrained and takes quite a while to unfold in my living room; it remains relatively subtle.
With Basil Bliss I notice on the raw sticks that is still slightly present during the burn. However, I primarily smell a slightly tart and spicy herbaceousness that I find typical of basil; alongside an earthy tone that I know specifically from the tulsi herb (which is the Indian “holy basil”).
Furthermore, the fragrance has a slightly musky quality that I’ve also found in other basil incense sticks (especially in Reichtum from the German brand BERK). I like this smell, it’s a touch of a funky note that, when properly implemented as it is here, makes a fragrance more interesting.
In the background, a delicate sweetness emerges. Additionally, I occasionally catch a light, rosy florality that probably comes from the essential oil blend.
The weather seems to have a major impact on how well this note is perceptible.
I’m writing this review on a late summer morning when it’s already 24°C before 9 o’clock. The past few days have had peak temperatures of over 30°C.
It seems to me as though this searing heat would dull the fragrance of Basil Bliss. Not only does it apparently dampen the mentioned floral note, it seems to make the composition overall weaker and flat. Though now that it’s not quite so hot yet, the floral note does show itself.
This is interesting because over the past few days I’ve also had several of the other PremaNature varieties burning, and the heat seemed to really suit them.
For people who like intense fragrances, Basil Bliss will probably be disappointing.
As a pleasantly light fragrance for the background or to accompany meditation, I find the intensity quite pleasant, though.
After Reichtum out of the Feng Shui line by BERK, Basil Bliss are so far my favourite basil incense sticks.
