PremaNature – Forest Dew
I received this pack from PremaNature as a sample at the beginning of 2025.
The main article about PremaNature you can find here.
A pack of PremaNature incense sticks contains 12 sticks of 8″ length; each burns for 45-55 minutes.
On the back, this pack carries a stamp with the packaging date of May 2023 and the batch number F D 19 05.
Bought directly from the PremaNature website, the sticks cost 5€ per pack, that makes about 0,42€ per stick. In Germany, they’re so far only sold by Indiaroma, where a pack costs 5,90€ (about 0,49€ per stick).

Ingredients: Theertham (energized water), Pogostemon cablin essential oil, Essential oil mix, Tree resin, High-quality & pure charcoal powder, Tectona grandis and Litsea glutinosa powder.
Forest Dew are incense sticks with patchouli fragrance. The cold scent is earthy, with a touch of the typical, slightly musty geosmin smell and a hint of freshness.
When burning, the sticks show a moderately strong patchouli oil scent. It’s earthy, dark and deep, but not musty; there’s also a particularly subtle freshness.
The fragrance has quite a woody character, which only seems to come partly from the patchouli oil. I wonder whether in this composition, the Tectona grandis (teak) bark powder present in all varieties comes through more noticeably. Teak is a raw material that I’m not familiar with, at least as incense, and therefore I can’t identify the smell or pick it out.
I’m writing this review on a hot late summer day when it’s already close to 27°C just before noon. My impression is that the heat suits Forest Dew‘s fragrance excellently.
On all other occasions I’ve tried this variety, I found an odd and unpleasant note in the background, which today I’ve only smelled for a few moments after lighting. It’s a really strange smell that I find a little sour and somewhat scratchy. Is it the teak bark or perhaps one of the unnamed tree resins?
Patchouli is one of my favourite fragrances, and I have many excellent interpretations of it in my collection. For me, unfortunately, Forest Dew falls short of these.
Regarding the unpleasant note, I can only assume that I don’t get on with one of the ingredients.
Hi Irene,
I really like teak wood smell. We have a lot of teak wood in my area and I think I like it more than cedar. It smells like a posh wood.
