PremaNature – Citrus Love
I received this pack from PremaNature as a sample at the beginning of 2025.
The main article about PremaNature you can find here.
A pack of PremaNature incense sticks contains 12 sticks of 8″ length; each burns for 45-55 minutes.
On the back, this pack carries a stamp with the packing date of May 2023 and the batch number CL 17 05.
Bought directly from the PremaNature website, the sticks cost 5€ per pack, that makes about 0,42€ per stick. In Germany, they’re so far only sold by Indiaroma, where a pack costs 5,90€ (about 0,49€ per stick).

Ingredients: Theertham (energised water), Cymbopogon citratus essential oil, essential oil blend, tree resin, high-quality and pure charcoal powder, Tectona grandis and Litsea glutinosa powder.
Even aside from the fact that citrus fragrances generally aren’t my thing, I often find incense sticks of this fragrance genre particularly unpleasant because they remind me of cleaning products with ‘lemon freshness’; citronella is the worst culprit here.
With Citrus Love, however, this is (thankfully) not the case. In the persistent heat (of over 30°C) of recent days, this lemongrass fragrance even appears as a really pleasant refreshment.
Citrus Love have a robust lemongrass fragrance of moderate intensity. On this hot day, it seems to me as though occasionally a whiff of minty freshness peeks through. Though perhaps that’s only the slightly herbaceous character of lemongrass mixed with some imagination on my part. 😉
Apart from this box, I also received two sample sticks of this variety from my friend Sascha (owner of Indiaroma) some months earlier. I’ve taken the opportunity to compare the samples.
The different batches seem quite consistent, I can hardly recognise a difference. With Sascha’s sticks, perhaps the lemon fragrance is slightly less sharp, and I smell a tiny bit more sweetness coming from the background, but the difference is so minimal that I couldn’t tell the sticks apart without direct comparison.
The sweetness could indicate that there’s some benzoin resin in the base, which is a natural fixative. Lemongrass incense sticks (especially natural ones) usually have the problem of losing their fragrance quickly, since the heady citrus fragrance is very volatile. These already 2-year-old sticks have held their fragrance well, though.
I haven’t tried many incense sticks with lemongrass yet, but out of these, Citrus Love are among those I liked the best.
