Monsoon Incense – Sandalwood From Heaven
This packet was part of my order from Monsoon Incense from the beginning of 2025.
The 15g packet costs €2.50 and should contain 8 of the 9″ long sticks; that makes approximately €0.32 per stick. I only had 7 – so the packet was slightly underweight.

Sandalwood From Heaven have the distinct sandalwood-sweetness and smell quite intense. It’s not a truly authentic sandalwood oil fragrance, but it’s well-made, I find the sticks very delicious.
At first, Sandalwood From Heaven reminded me of Balaji – Chandanam, though without their buttercream-like, heavy opulence and the resulting tendency to be cloying.
After a while, I then felt more reminded of Balaji – Chandan.
With Sandalwood From Heaven, I’d say though that the sweetness is a bit more multi-layered than that of Chandan, which perhaps is due to the honey mentioned in the description.
They also have a more pronounced and richer woodiness, which makes me wonder how they’d compare to Koya’s – Chandan (of which I only had a single sample stick.)
In a certain way, it also smells a little like Monsoon Sandalwood, minus the fascinating aqua note.
Unfortunately, I’m regularly catching a whiff of the smouldering bamboo stick, which occurs fairly rarely for me during a burn. Normally, I smell this off-note at most shortly before a stick completely extinguishes.
The off-note is a shame, but doesn’t change much about the fact that I really like the fragrance profile. I don’t regret the purchase, but I’m not sure whether I’d buy Sandalwood From Heaven again.
