Auroshikha – First – Nag Champa

I got this stick from Sascha, the owner of Indiaroma.de, who sent me a surprise package with samples from his private collection some time ago (which, coincidentally, almost all happen to be available in his shop).
Auroshikha – First – Nag Champa costs €3.95 in his shop, but it can also be found in other shops at similar prices. A pack contains 15 sticks, which makes it €0.26 per stick.

First Nag Champa has a fairly pronounced musk aspect for me, similar to what I’ve found in some Fluxo incense sticks, but these are definitely not Fluxos. The scent is quite robust, but not exceptionally strong.
The floral aspect is typical of Nag Champa, yet it also reminds me a little of some jasmine incense because the fragrance is very sparkling and fruity, giving it a bit of a sour freshness. However, this might also be due to the rather intense musky component. The combination of sour and musky makes the scent come across as rather tart.
I don’t find anything really creamy in the composition, just a somewhat odd sweetness that I don’t particularly like. It’s the kind of sweetness I’d describe as ‘smeary’. However, it’s not constantly noticeable, which makes it acceptable.

First – Nag Champa is quite ok, but it’s by far not among my favourites in the Nag Champa genre.
