Monsoon Incense – Jasmine

This pack was part of a generous selection of samples sent to me by Eugene Andrushchenko, owner of the brands Bhagwan and Monsoon Incense, in mid-2024. At that time, the brand was still called Good Incense.

A 15g pack contains approximately 8 sticks and costs €2.95, which comes to €0.37 per stick. They are 8″ (about 20.5cm) long and burn for 40–45 minutes.

Jasmine have a very classic jasmine scent to me: bright, heady, intensely floral, and characterised by sparkling-fresh, fruity, and even subtly spicy notes.
The sticks are potent and best suited for large spaces or even outdoor use. In high concentrations, the scent quickly becomes too intense for me and then takes on an unpleasant soapy quality. However, with open doors and windows, Jasmine can still be used indoors, and the soapy aspect fades.
The fragrance unfolds into a truly beautiful jasmine bouquet, which is also present for a long time in the after-smell.

Jasmine bear a remarkable resemblance to Jasmine Blossom from Temple of Incense. It’s the same kind of jasmine scent, though the one from TOI appears to be higher in quality to me. This impression is mainly due to the soapy note in Jasmine, which is particularly noticeable on the raw stick, but is still faintly present in the scent when burning.
Furthermore, Jasmine Blossom smell a little sweeter.
Still, I think Monsoon Incense – Jasmine are interesting for people looking for an alternative to Jasmine Blossom that’s more budget-friendly but similarly intense.

Monsoon Incense – Jasmine has also been reviewed on ORS.
