Fleur de Vie – Tree of Life

Meine Wertung: 4,2

  1. I have tried green champa from shroff, gurugees, mereville and I also have Rasbiharilal and sons green champa but I haven’t tried it yet. I would certainly recommend gurugee’s. Shroff gets 2nd place and mereville, while still good, smelt more like a single note stick without much depth.
Green champa reminds me of ‘rawness’. There’s a certain tartness to it, somewhat like how a green mango tastes tart compared to a ripe one.

    1. It sucks that the Shroff wet masala sampler was sold out when I finally placed my order at Padma Store. – Ha, dubblechecking it, I notice it’s not included anyway. My sampler of RBL&S also doesn’t contain a Green Champa. 🙁
From what line are the Mereville ones? I’ve never seen Gurugees Incense outside your post at r/Incense back than.
Do you think there is a similar difference between Green Nag Champa and Green Champa as between Nag Champa and Champa? – Or did you just shorten it?
I only started out dipping my toes into different Nag Champa recently and I read that Champa referes to the Champa flower while Nag Champa can contain Champa but is a thing on it’s own?

      1. Sorry I just saw this comment.
Rasbiharilal has so many fragrances. I want to try them all but they’re all sold as 250gms packages.
The mereville one is from the same ‘peacock design on the packaging’ line (offering line).
I love gurugees so much! It reminds me of golokas organica series except it has different fragrances. Both have one product each with sandalwood fragrance and they smell the same to me.
Funnily enough, I’ve never heard of green nag champa except from you. So I can’t tell you if it’s the same as green champa or not. All the brands I have tried call it green champa not green nag champa. Do you remember I told you how I believe these local incense manufacturers tend to ride on other brands’ success by copying names or nonsense marketing terms like flora or fluxo? I think that’s what’s happening here as well. Green champa may not catch the western eye as much as nag champa so they must have altered it slightly to say green nag champa.
Yes, champa incense is usually just the fragrance of the flower (I say ‘the’ flower but there are so many types) and nag champa is a blend with sandalwood and other ingredients. I’ve heard from WeAreZilla that sometimes they may not even use champa but a different flower altogether. But again, Nag Rose doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?
Nowadays you can also get ready-made fragrance oil blend of nag champa.

        1. Ok, I just realized, I fooled myself…
The one that actually has “green” in the title is a Green Champa, the Nag Champas I had in mind have a green box but are not actually called so – so I fear I basically made up “Green Nag Champa” by throwing it all together and leafing me with the impression there are way more then actually are lol.

But I think your statement about companies rideing on the success of popular names is true anyway.
