Holy Smokes – Feng Shui – Reise

Here, you can read the main article about this line.
I bought this roll of Reise [journey] along with some others from this line on Kleinanzeigen. Some of the packages still had a label with the original price of €4.20. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out where they were bought. I haven’t seen them anywhere else at such a low price. Usually, a pack of the Feng Shui line costs between 5 and 7 euros. There is 20g in a roll, but there’d be plenty of space for more.

Ingredients: Cinnamon, myrrh, sandalwood, palmarosa

For the first few seconds, Reise smells relatively smoky, but soon the warm, spicy cinnamon comes through.
The scent maintains a woody character but is interwoven with a balsamic softness, which I attribute to the myrrh. Unlike in Ganzheit, the myrrh in this variety never strikes me in a negative way; sometimes it comes out as slightly more tart, but never bitter, burnt, or ashy.
The sweetness is very subtle and seems to come solely from the mentioned ingredients, which is also very much in line with my impressions of the other varieties of this line.
Palmarosa is an ingredient which I don’t have much experience with. It’s a fragrant grass related to lemongrass, but it’s said to have a rose-like scent. I’m only familiar with the essential oil in my mother’s collection, and I can’t say I detect any rose in it; I don’t even find it particularly floral. It has a relatively fresh smell, but it also possesses a sweetness and a peculiar softness. In Reise, I can’t pick up this scent, though that doesn’t mean it isn’t contributing subtly to the overall fragrance profile.

Reise has a pleasant, natural scent that I find well-suited to slightly colder days. The warm, spicy, and cosy character of the fragrance creates a comforting atmosphere.
