Pushkar Temple – Nag Champa Special

I bought this bundle of Nag Champa Special second hand at the end of 2023. At that time, they were about 1 year old, and thus originally purchased around the same time as I ordered the other Pushkar Temple sticks from England.
The roll would have contained 100g when new, roughly 75–80 sticks. Pilgrims Fair Trade, the English supplier, sells these for approximately €4.40, available on eBay or Etsy.
Beyond that, the sticks can also be purchased directly from India via this Instagram account. There is a minimum order quantity of one kilogram. The seller, a Kazakh named Pavel, is very friendly and writes good English. He’s not the manufacturer but has assured me that he knows the manufacturer and sources directly from them.

According to this Instagram post, Nag Champa Special contains pollen from Plumeria and rose flowers, spices, and aromatic herbs.

Nag Champa Special has a rather deep, dark scent profile, especially compared to the previously reviewed Nag Champa by Rajpal. However, Nag Champa Special reveals a certain, rather tart sandalwood note.
The scent is just as typical of Nag Champa as that of Rajpal’s, but it’s rather tart, woody, and lacks clarity. The fragrance is creamy but also has a slightly pungent note, which I’ve repeatedly noticed with the sticks from Pushkar Temple. However, with Nag Champa Special, this pungency is only very faint.

Pushkar Temple – Nag Champa Special are nice, but they don’t manage to really excite me.
