Fiore D’Oriente – Marco Polo’s Treasures – Patchouli

I bought Patchouli with three other varieties at Spiru. I don’t actually like the shop because their marketing is terribly annoying, but I had a promo code with 20% off and free shipping and I got weak. Patchouli cost 5,95€ there. It’s a 20g pack with 10 sticks of 9″ (23cm) length.
The burn time given on the pack is 60-80 minutes.

At Ephra World they cost 6,45€, but are currently sold out. Padma Store offers them for 6,95€. At the Fiore D’Oriente shop a pack costs 4,90€.

In some pictures on the internet, the pack is shown with the ECOCERT logo, however my pack carries the ICEA emblem on the back.

Ingredients: Coconut charcoal powder, Machilus macrantha gum, Halmaddi paste, Pogostemon cablin essential oil.

The smell of these patchouli sticks has an inherent sweetness which is subtle and feels very natural. The earthy character of the patchouli is prominent, but without turning into mustiness.

The herbal, green portion of the patchouli fragrance profile is clearly present, although these incense sticks only contain the essential oil, according to the ingredients list. I can only assume that the Halmaddi does its part here and gives the composition the necessary body, without which the oil alone would feel too heady. (Something I criticised about the Patchouli sticks by Jeomra.)

Its pronounced musk aspect gives the fragrance an incredible amount of depth. It reminds me of fresh testosterone sweat, and I find the smell incredibly sexy.

The after-smell is long-lasting and very similar to the fragrance when burning, only a little milder.

Marco Polo’s Treasures – Patchouli are simply fantastic. For me, they have the perfect balance of earthy, herbal and musky notes that a patchouli fragrance can offer.
I have found my perfect patchouli sticks in them!
