Vinasons – Agarwood
I’ve got samples of Vinasons – Agarwood from two different sources: One stick I got at the end of 2023 from Padma Store, and 5 more at the beginning of 2024 from Silver directly from India.
At Padma Store, a pack with 20g of the 8″ (~ 23cm) long sticks costs €6.25. Based on the weight of the sticks I have here, that should be a bit more than 20 pieces. The burning time is given as approximately 45 minutes.

Agarwood have a moderately strong aroma.
The only thing I can connect about them with agarwood is a perfumed note that recalls men’s fragrances. It’s slightly tart, woody and balsamic. I find that note in the raw sticks, but it’s also part of the fragrance when burning. It mixes very subtly into the otherwise dry-woody fragrance profile and is supported by a rather mild sweetness.
Through my notes runs the mention of a fresh-spicy note that reminds me of cloves. It contrasts the warmth of the woody aspect with a cooling sensation. For some reason, though, it doesn’t always appear.
For agarwood purists and anyone seeking a really authentic agarwood fragrance, Agarwood will rather be disappointing. At their core, though, they’re pleasant incense sticks for people who enjoy dry wood scents.
