Bhagwan – Orange Blossom
I received Orange Blossom as a sample from Eugene, the owner of Bhagwan Incense, when I ordered there in September 2023. At that time, the boxes had not yet been printed for some of the new varieties.
I got 10 sticks that weighed 9g; so a regular 15g pack will contain 16+ sticks. They cost €3.95 and burn for 40–45 minutes.
Disclosure: Due to my history and friendly relationship with Eugene, the owner of Bhagwan Incense, I would like to point out that I cannot write reviews of this brand with complete impartiality. I write a lot of the Bhagwan reviews based on samples that were given to me – these are labelled accordingly.
All reviews are unpaid and reflect my honest opinion, but you are welcome to consider them as advertising.
Orange Blossom, like many other varieties sold by Bhagwan Incense, has a strong vanilla note that suggests it comes from HMS.
Probably because they are so incredibly fresh, Orange Blossom have a very intense smell that I find a little pungent. But I’m admittedly not a fan of neroli.
The smell is tart, fruity and slightly sour, which gives the scent something tangy when diluted sufficiently. I only notice the typical neroli scent after a few minutes. Neroli always smells strangely dry and yet floral to me.
I can only assume that neroli was combined with orange oil here, making it smell so fruity.
My mother loves neroli, which is why I tried the variety in her living room as well. There, I find the scent to be more floral and rounder in general, but the vanilla remains quite present.
Recently, I noticed that Orange Blossom had left a very pleasant, sparkling floral scent on my jumper. Overall, I like the after-smell better than the room note while it burns.
Orange Blossom are not badly made, but my mother, Max and I find them to be nothing particularly special.
