Bhagwan – Frank & Rose
I received this single sample stick from Eugene, the owner of Bhagwan Incense, when I ordered in September 2023. The boxes had not been printed yet.
It is approximately 23cm or 9″ long and weighs about one gram; A regular 15g pack will therefore contain approx. 15 sticks. They cost €4.95 and burn for 40–45 minutes.
Attention: Frank & Rose is advertised as “vegan”, but according to the description, it contains honey. I find this to be misleading advertising.
Disclosure: Due to my history and friendly relationship with Eugene, the owner of Bhagwan Incense, I would like to point out that I cannot write reviews of this brand with complete impartiality. I write a lot of the Bhagwan reviews based on samples that were given to me – these are labelled accordingly.
All reviews are unpaid and reflect my honest opinion, but you are welcome to consider them as advertising.
Ingredients according to the description text: rose oil, frankincense resin, honey and halmaddi.
Frank & Rose has the sweetest rose scent I can imagine. It is the olfactory equivalent of rose lokum (aka Turkish Delight), a Turkish delicacy made primarily from sugar syrup and starch.
Mike (ORS) is very impressed with Frank & Rose. Unfortunately, I have to say that they are, like lokum, far too sweet for me. They even remind me of Goloka – Lotus.
I’m trying my best to find the frankincense mentioned in the description of the scent profile. Sometimes, when a current of air blows favourably around my nose, I briefly have the impression of detecting a quiet, fresh and slightly peppery note, but I hardly believe that I could come up with Frankincense from that alone.
I smell the vanilla as a rich cake cream, which increases the sweetness in my perception.
Frank & Rose are for lovers of intensely sweet rose scents. Anyone else interested, I refer to my review of Jeomra’s Weihrauch & Rose. 😉
