Balaji – Escentials – Cinnamon
This sample comes from my friend and fellow blogger Steve; you can find his review here.
I don’t know whether the sticks are available for purchase in Germany.

The raw scent is very spicy; like cinnamon, but even more like cloves. I also smell a perfumed soapy aspect.
When burning, Cinnamon opens with a generic masala character. It has the typical woodiness and creamy sweetness reminiscent of cosmetic products, which so many masalas have. Added to that comes soapiness.
Cinnamon also have an actually quite spicy aspect, but this seems to focus on the sharpness of cinnamon.
Although the sweetness of the sticks is strong, it somehow feels wrong. It’s not cinnamon sweetness; it’s just a generic, perfumed masala sweetness.
I find the smell rather obtrusive, but it’s not per se bad. I simply prefer more natural cinnamon fragrances, like those from Pema of Tibet or Mothersgoods.
